LinkedIn Company Page and Premium Company Page: Setup Guide
Run a LinkedIn Company Page: admin roles, profile fields, posting mix, invitation credits, analytics, and whether Premium Company Page is worth it.
Your LinkedIn Company Page is the official home of the brand on LinkedIn: it holds the facts AI assistants and buyers check, hosts Events and newsletters, powers Thought Leader Ads and Lead Gen Forms, and is where employees link their work experience. Set up roles properly (Super admin, Content admin, Analyst), complete every field with consistent positioning, post two to five times a week with proof and teaching content, use your monthly invitation credits, and measure follower quality in Page analytics. Premium Company Page adds verification, a custom CTA button, Who's visited my Page and auto-invites; it is worth testing if your Page already gets regular visits from buyers.
- Page admin roles are Super admin, Content admin and Analyst; paid media roles are separate.
- Write the tagline, About and specialities to match your website positioning word for word.
- Invitation credits are monthly, shared across admins, and returned when accepted.
- Premium Company Page adds verification, a custom CTA, visitor insight, testimonials and auto-invites; rolling out gradually, super admins only.
- The Page is one of the sources Perplexity cites most often among LinkedIn URLs, according to Semrush.
Checked 5 November 2026 (CET) against LinkedIn Help on Premium Company Page, Page admin roles, invitation limits and Pages FAQs, plus the Semrush/LinkedIn AI citation study, cited in Sources. Posting mix and cadence are practitioner guidance. "Our view" marks MentionX opinion. Ledgerline is a fictional company used for illustration.
01What is the Company Page for?
| Job | How the Page does it |
|---|---|
| Official facts | Name, website, industry, size, locations, About |
| Trust | Verification, employees listed, posts and proof |
| Distribution base | Followers, newsletters, Events, Live |
| Ads | Required for Sponsored Content, Lead Gen Forms and Thought Leader Ads |
| Talent | Jobs and Career Pages (separate product) |
| AI visibility | Semrush found Perplexity cited Company Pages in 59% of its LinkedIn citations |
Our view: the founder's profile usually gets more organic reach, but the Page holds the facts and the ad machinery. You need both.
02How do you set up roles?
| Role | Can do | Give to |
|---|---|---|
| Super admin | Everything, including adding admins and deactivating the Page | Two trusted people (never just one) |
| Content admin | Post, boost posts, create Events | Marketing team |
| Analyst | View analytics only | Leadership, agency reporting |
| Sponsored Content poster (paid media) | Create Sponsored Content in Campaign Manager | Ads manager or agency |
| Lead Gen Forms manager (paid media) | Download leads from Lead Gen Forms | Ops or CRM owner |
The old Curator role was retired in late 2024 and curators became Analysts (see lesson 9).
03How do you complete the Page?
Work through this checklist:
- Logo and cover image: logo readable at small sizes; cover states your positioning or current campaign.
- Tagline: the same one-line positioning as your website hero.
- About: what you do, who for, the outcome and proof, in the first two sentences.
- Website URL with UTM tags: for example utm_source=linkedin, utm_medium=company_page.
- Industry, company size, headquarters, founded year, specialities: accurate and consistent with your website and other directories.
- Custom button: "Visit website", "Contact us", "Learn more" or "Sign up", pointing to a relevant page.
- Showcase Pages: only for distinct product lines or audiences you will post to regularly.
- Locations: add offices so employees and Events link correctly.
Consistency matters for AI assistants that compare sources. See brand messaging consistency across the web.
04What should the Page post?
| Content | Share of posts | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Teaching (guides, checklists, documents) | 40% | "7-step month-end close checklist" (PDF) |
| Proof (customer stories, data, awards) | 25% | "How a 120-person firm cut approval time by 70%" |
| People and culture | 15% | Employee spotlight, team at an Event |
| Product and company news | 15% | Feature launch with a short demo |
| Reshares of employee posts | 5% | Founder's best post |
Post two to five times a week (practitioner guidance). Reshare employees' posts that mention the Page; this replaced the old My Company tab workflow.
05How do you grow followers?
- Invite connections. Super admins use monthly invitation credits shared across admins. Credits renew on the first of the month; an accepted invitation returns its credit (it can take up to 72 hours). LinkedIn is changing credit amounts for free and Premium Pages gradually, so check your balance under Invite connections.
- Link employees. Ask employees to select the Page in their Experience section so it shows their logo and connects them.
- Follow button everywhere. Website footer, email signatures and newsletters.
- Events and newsletters from the Page. New attendees and subscribers see the Page.
- Ads. A brand awareness or engagement campaign to your target audience, with a follow CTA where available.
06Is Premium Company Page worth it?
| Feature (LinkedIn Help) | What it does | Who benefits |
|---|---|---|
| Page verification | Verified badge | Brands facing impersonation or trust issues |
| Custom CTA button | Your choice of action on the Page | Service firms, demo-led SaaS |
| Who's visited my Page | See visitors | Sales follow-up on warm accounts |
| Custom testimonial | Feature a client quote | Agencies and consultancies |
| Credibility highlights | Key proof points on the Page | Newer brands |
| Auto-invite engaged members and followers of similar Pages | Invitations beyond 1st-degree connections | Pages that need follower growth |
| Dynamic cover images | Rotating cover | Campaign launches |
| Service requests | Inbound requests | Services businesses |
Rules: it is rolling out gradually, only super admins can subscribe, and LinkedIn Help says the price is shown on screen rather than as a published monthly rate. Do not quote a price until you see it. A free trial may be offered. You cannot convert it to another Premium subscription.
Decision rule (our view): test it for one month if your Page already gets regular visits from target accounts and your sales team will act on visitor data. Skip it if the Page has few visitors; fix content first.
07How do you measure the Page?
| Metric | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Followers by job function, seniority, industry | Page analytics, Followers | Audience quality |
| Visitors and their demographics | Page analytics, Visitors | Buyer interest |
| Impressions, clicks, engagement rate | Page analytics, Content | Content performance |
| Competitor follower growth and posts | Page analytics, Competitors | Benchmarking |
| Website sessions from Page links | GA4 with UTM tags | Business value |
08Worked example: Ledgerline
Ledgerline is a fictional accounts-payable software company. Competitors A to D and all figures are illustrative.
Ledgerline's Page has 1,800 followers, a three-year-old About and one super admin. Competitors A to D have 5,000 to 40,000 followers.
Walkthrough
- Roles: two super admins, three content admins, an analyst for the CEO.
- Profile: tagline and About aligned with the website; UTM-tagged website link; "Request demo" button.
- Content: three posts a week using the mix table; founder posts reshared weekly.
- Growth: invitation credits used monthly by the founder and sales team; 40 employees linked.
- Premium test: free trial; sales contacted 26 visiting target accounts; 4 meetings booked (illustrative). Kept.
- After 6 months (illustrative): 5,600 followers, 48% in finance or operations functions.
09Common mistakes
- A single super admin who then leaves.
- About text that contradicts the website.
- Posting only product announcements.
- Letting invitation credits expire unused.
- Buying Premium before the Page has visitors.
10Try it yourself
Audit your Page against the eight-step checklist. Add a second super admin, check your invitation balance and plan two weeks of posts using the content mix table.
